christmas eve.

Christmas Eve was spent at my big sista's house, where you would find only the best homemade tamales, the most refreshing salad ever known to mankind, fresh tuna ceviche to please the taste buds, Mexican hot chocolate and chocolate cake to go together and to make a happy duo. I love being with my family so much (I think we all know that) and I also LOVE a good feast. so, let's see: the best people I know, yummy food, happy dancing, Bible reading, sweets-devouring, gift opening, Christmas music and so much more lovely things? yep, this was pretty much the most perfect Christmas Eve ever. I'm so super blessed to have a full + healthy family and to have Jesus in my heart.

I'm thankful to God for the gospel and for His love. It's easy to pass on the story of Christ' birth and forget how incredibly real it is, how it isn't a fictional story at all. it's crazy if you really think about it. how it really happened, the manger is real, the wise men were real, Mary and Joseph were real, Jesus is real. I wish I could convince everyone in the world, but I can't. I struggle and I fail every single day, but God sent Jesus to save us. "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." (2 cor. 5:21). Jesus Christ and the gospel is the greatest gift of all and the greatest act of love. I'm so thankful for life, and for being able to know and trust in the fact that Jesus Christ took my place and because of that I can live freely in the grace, love and mercy of the LORD. Happy birthday, Jesus! and I pray that God would continue to work in my heart evermore into this upcoming new year.

2012 is 4 days away.
oh how time flies.
xo.

I love homemade tamales and really any Mexican food. I'm so jealous.

It is really easy to forget what Christmas is really all about .. to much marketing goes into Santa Claus. And not Jesus. But he doesn't expect money - just love.
