dance machines.

you ask me why I can't stop dancing at parties?
it was a fine Saturday night, and my parents basically rocked the dance floor.
yeah, I think I know where I got it from.

the perfect duo spent the night on that dance floor.

they danced the longest, and they smiled the biggest.

my mom with her cute dance moves.

and her beautiful smile.

my dad's funny faces while dancing.

did I say funny faces? maybe I meant, hard core faces.
makes me wonder how they were in their disco days.

and of course, they were one of the two couples still out for a slow dance.

even though I know they struggle and they fight,
they truly know how to love God and each other with their whole hearts.
pure evidence of God's love and grace.

it's truly a blessing. they've been married for over 30 years and I seriously have learned and am still learning so much from watching them, from being around them, from simply spending time with both of them, and from them just being, them. fighting for each other no matter what. fighting for God no matter what. and yeah, they sure can fight hard. but their love stands up and fights even harder, my siblings would agree.

when they fight, they fight.
safe to say, this is their song.
when they dance, they dance.
when they laugh, they laugh.
oh but when they love, they
really love.
and I
love that.

dear mom and dad, I'm pretty sure I say this a lot (maybe even a little too much on this blog), but seriously, I love you both with all my heart. I'm so blessed to have two of the most beautiful hearts in my life, both so incredibly strong and so incredibly loving. not to mention, so incredibly silly! you both got a groovy kind of love. xoxo.
